STRI proudly congratulates a team from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) for achieving outstanding success on the international stage by winning a Gold Medal at The 9th China (Shanghai) International Invention & Innovation Expo 2026.
The event was held from 11–13 June 2026 as part of The 12th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.
The KMUTNB research team consisted of:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Tapanee Treeratanaporn
- Mr. Peerawat Wasanapitranont
- Mr. Punyapat Mahankanan
- Ms. Sarunya Seangchan
The team presented their innovative project entitled “Real-Time Human Fall Detection System”, an intelligent solution designed to detect human falls in real time and enhance safety monitoring for elderly individuals, patients, and vulnerable populations.
Competing against 1,227 innovation projects submitted by inventors, researchers, and institutions from around the world—including China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Romania, Poland, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan
In recognition of its excellence, the project was awarded a Gold Medal and also received the NRCT Honorable Mention Award presented by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
This remarkable achievement reflects KMUTNB’s commitment to advancing world-class research and innovation, fostering technological solutions for society, and strengthening Thailand’s competitiveness on the global stage.
